Artist Statement

'l have but one desire as an artist, that is to make what l see, as l see it, in my own way...'

My current body of work has primarily developed from my investigation into form, texture and scale. This series of work that l have developed represents my personal and direct response to the positive and negative elements that we are exposed to on a daily basis and this has been realised through the abstraction of a bottle form.

These pieces presented the challenge for me to create a dialogue between form and the space that encapsulates it. While my current work is preoccupied with monumental mass, the challenge is now to invesitage everyday objects, their function, form and colour.

l wish to explore the language of abstract forms while developing what has become an instinctive and spontaneous way of working. My aim is to invite the viewer into the debate on aesthetics and function within our material culture.
