Artist Statement
My work explores ideas of narrative constructs using a visual language derived from both fairytales and science.
The starting point for this body of work was in my exploration of how most humans consider themselves separate from the natural world. Thus much of the imagery that I use is of natural things – plants and animals – presented in a delicately unnatural way, emphasising the gap that has arisen between humans and nature.
