Artist Statement
Bríd's art practice is interdisciplinary based. In Recent times she has focused her practice around the research of Obsessive Compulsive Disorders. Bríd was investigating the element of repetitive tasks and compulsive motions. She is interested in the persons need to cover up their obsessions, and the severity of its ability to control their lives. Her starting point was from looking at an obsession she had in her childhood, of drawing circles constantly. She sets the atmosphere by creating a bedroom setting, as this is an area where the obsessions can come to life. She intends to create an intense, overpowering effect on the viewer. Brid explored this compulsion through the medium of Drawing, Print, Painting, Textiles and Installation.
