Artist Statement

An Artist and Illustrator, my work lies somewhere between image making and image manipulation, combining digital elements with traditional processes. A former graduate with a BDes in Fashion and Textiles design from the University of Ulster, Belfast I am heavily influenced by a love of paper, collage, pattern and texture. My work combines a passion for all things colourful and unusual, creating provoking and striking images with a visual depth that is both appealing to the sensibilities and enticingly intricate to the eye. My artwork is often figurative based, exploring themes of femininity and identity within the context of personal narrative and storytelling.
I frequently illustrate, undertaking mostly fashion and editorial work. Clients have included IF Magazine/ Modo Magazine/ BandwidthSessions.com/ Revista Gooo/ LeftoversZine / Supersweet.org.
I have been involved in exhibitions both nationally and internationally. Past exhibitions include the 'Edition' exhibition, Bodhi Gallery, London, 'Homemade' Synth Eastwood Show, Dublin, and the 'Top100' exhibition, Jealous Gallery, London, Souk Art Show, Waterfront Hall, Belfast, ‘Poster Girl” Neurtitan Galerie, Berlin.

A practicing Artist and Illustrator I also freelance as an art facilitator on a number of visual arts outreach programmes within festivals, parades, schools, youth and community groups in a range of settings in N. Ireland. I have experience working with varied age groups and ability ranges i.e. early years, teenagers, adult, pensioners and special needs groups.
