Artist Statement
My work deals with memory and its attachment to space. I have been using imagery that depicts spaces of memory which are of personal significance. The use of plaster acts as a preservation of space and remembrance, but due to its nature, both material and image become susceptible to change. The plaster itself forces the image to undergo a process of decline almost becoming entirely lost to the material. What remains is a residue of an image, which reflects the fleeting nature of its original memory.
